Greetings, Democrats!
With less than two months till the election there is much we can do to get involved and help our candidates. If you aren't familiar with Tommy Sowers, our candidate for congress, I urge you to drop into Sowers Headquarters in West Plains to find out more about his campaign and how you might help.
One important way is to reach out to voters through phone calls. Tommy can't talk to every person in the district himself and that's where we come in!
Every Tuesday there will be phone banking in Willow Springs and every Thursday evening at Sowers Headquarters in West Plains. Once you are comfortable with calling , you can just do it at home in your spare time. If 50 of us make 20 calls per week that is 1000 calls! This is fewer than 3 calls per day.
Mark your calendars for Pioneer Days in Mountain View, Saturday, September 25th. The Democrats Club always has a booth and it is a great way to reach out to voters of all parties. The next weekend, October 2nd, we set it all up again in Willow Springs for their fall festival. Let me know if you can help us man the booth either day.
Our annual fall rally is set for October 9th at People's Park in West Plains from 11:00 AM till 2:00 PM.
We'll have live music, a potluck, rousing speeches and a silent auction- ALWAYS a fun time and a great kickoff for the final weeks of campaigning. Contact me if you can help with the rally setup, potluck , donating cool auction items, etc. ( Those donated items can be dropped off at Sowers Headquarters any time, too)
There's lots of work to be done but it's fun, too! I hope you will invest your time and energy with us as much as possible. Please call me if you have any questions or suggestions! I look forward to working with you to elect candidates that serve the needs of all citizens of our district and state.

Hi All!
The Past Week
The biggest happening of the past week has been the celebration of our grand office opening for our Regional HQ in West Plains (pictures attached!) We had over 40 folks join us from Howell, Oregon, Ozark, and Douglas Counties for the festivities. Tommy joined us via Skype to say a few words, and local West Plains musician Charles Nichols entertained the crowd. There was even a guest appearance by our favorite Field Director, Mike Petzold! If you weren't able to make it out for the evening, please feel free to stop by whenever you're in town - official office hours will run from 10am - 8pm, Monday thru Saturday, and from 1:00pm - 8pm on Sundays, although will most likely be open many more hours than just those.
Where We Are Now
We're pushing full-steam ahead on voter contact - as I write this, we have an office of folks making phone calls and writing letters to voters across the district who'd like more information on Tommy! Our volunteer leadership training on August 21st in Poplar Bluff is really coming together and will be a great day of campaign strategy, discussion, and action. I hope you can make it! If you're able to attend or would like to carpool, please just let me know.
Looking Ahead
With the office officially opened, and only 75 days left in the election, we're going to be running regular voter contact events each day. Of note, every Tuesday in Willow Springs, at Music and More, we'll be having phone banks, as well as every Thursday at HQ in West Plains. During the day time, our goal is to have a constant stream of folks reaching out into the community on the phones, doors, and through letter mailing campaigns - stop by! With so few days left until the election, the time is now!
